Cell Block 9

I am so excited to share “Cell Block” which I just received back from the framer. It features 9 5x5 individual mixed media “cells” arranged in a grid within a single black metal frame with a white 8-ply cut-out matting. (watercolor pencils, colored pencils, acrylic pens, micron pens, metallic pens, and wood panels 24x24).

The cells represent how I think (in my imagination) our cellular biology looks and behaves in response to, and as part of, various emotional reactions — all up to the viewer to interpret which cell is which and which cell is responding to and reacting to what, what each one is doing.

It is very open-ended, individual and immersive, and interpretive for each viewer as they feel it, call it, and see fit.
